The theme this year was "Somebody's Watching You". We received our family's invitation about a week before and several text messages throughout the week to remind us that somebody was indeed watching us. She provided everyone (all 29 of us kids and adults) with their own scavenger hunt t-shirt. The clues took us to the following places:
1) the dove cage in her back yard
2) a spider infested chest
3) a mausoleum where each family got their own miniature urn full of "ashes" (salt)
4) a merry-go-round at South Town Mall
5) dinner at In-N-Out
6) Popeye's in Lehi for warm biscuits and sparkling cider to hold us over on our last stretch to our final destination
7) a Halloween cruise on the Provo River.
Not only was the next clue at each location, but many prizes throughout the night for kids and adults including glow sticks, flashlights, treats, spider rings, hand sanitizer, socks and money.

Connor is a good sport about being one of the "kids". Truth be told, he gets his feelings hurt if he isn't included as a grandchild, but when he is, he acts like he is too old for it. Funny guy.
The river cruise took place at a ropes course in Provo near Utah Lake (http://clasropes.com/halloween-cruise.php). I had no idea it was even there. While we waited for our large group's turn on the barge, we had hot chocolate and watched an outdoor screening of a cute Halloween movie. The cruise was basically the equivalent of a hay ride with lights, pumpkins, scary stories, etc. but on the river. We even almost got boarded by a silly joke-telling pirate!

Captain Alex, our guide. The boat wasn't powered by an engine. He just held onto a suspended rope and pulled us slowly along. If they used an engine, the ride would be over in an instant because it's a pretty short distance that you travel.

The whole adventure took about 5 hours from start to finish. Great memories were made as usual. I'm so glad my kids benefit from her generosity and creativity. I need to take good notes!
